Battery Electric Passenger Cars
BEV sedans/SUVs, declared as Class 9 for built-in batteries, shipped by Ro-Ro or container, with power-off and SOC control.
NEV export logistics is the professional service that ships new energy complete vehicles (EV/PHEV) to overseas markets via Ro-Ro (RORO), container or breakbulk, with full compliance, customs clearance and delivery.
HUIN International Logistics has focused on new energy battery logistics for 15 years and holds NVOCC/FMC/IMDG qualifications. We cooperate deeply with Ro-Ro and container carriers, offering export qualification processing, Class 9 battery declaration, power-off/SOC control, and destination-country market access (EU WVTA / Middle East GCC) as one-stop services.
From passenger cars to construction machinery, covering the full range of new energy complete vehicles. Unsure about export qualifications and market access requirements? Send your vehicle model for a free assessment.
KD parts exports, special engineering vehicles, over-height/over-width models… Send model/dimensions/quantity and HUIN will assess the export route and compliance checklist for free.
Complete vehicle export involves three layers of compliance — "export qualification + battery declaration + destination-country market access". Missing any one can stop loading or lead to rejection at the destination port.

Ro-Ro, container and breakbulk are chosen by vehicle type, quantity and destination — Ro-Ro is optimal for batch passenger cars; container/breakbulk are more flexible for special vehicles.
| Shipping Mode | Applicable Cargo | Transit Time | Cost | Key Advantages | Limitations |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ro-Ro RORO
Batch complete vehicles |
Batch exports of passenger/commercial vehicles | China→Europe 30-45 days | ★★☆★★ | Lowest batch cost, no lifting needed | Requires full space, fewer sailings |
| Container
40ft, 2-4 units |
Small batches, over-length/over-width models | Same as FCL 28-40 days | ★★★☆☆ | Flexible departure, dense sailings | Higher per-unit cost, needs lashing in container |
| Breakbulk
Heavy-lift / deck |
Electric buses, construction machinery | Africa/Middle East 35-50 days | ★★☆★★ | Dedicated to oversized cargo, heavy-lift handling | Fewer sailings, early booking needed |
| China-Europe Rail
Railway complete vehicles |
Batch vehicles to Europe | 18-25 days | ★★★☆☆ | Faster than sea, cheaper than air | Limited by border crossings and battery transport rules |

The key to NEV complete vehicle export is "power-off, battery level control, securing and complete documents" — the standards below follow carrier requirements and the IMDG Code.
Vehicle power must be off before loading, battery SOC ≤30% with a discharge certificate issued — a mandatory carrier requirement.
Low-voltage isolation switch locked; keys handed to the ship agent, with key custody required by some carriers.
Wheel chocks + lashing straps on all four wheels, parking brake engaged, to prevent shifting during voyage.
Body protection film and door edge guards; on-board accessories (charging gun/spare tire) verified and secured against a checklist.
Class 9 label applied to the vehicle exterior (if required), with battery declaration documents and vehicle information attached.
Invoice, packing list, CoC, keys and charging accessories verified per vehicle to avoid shortage disputes at destination.
