Cells · Modules
Lithium-ion cells and modules are shipped by cargo aircraft under PI 965 (CAO), with state of charge SOC ≤ 30% and Section IA/IB weight-tier stowage, departing from Hong Kong / Shenzhen.
Lithium battery air freight (CAO) is a professional logistics service that, in accordance with the International Air Transport Association Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA DGR), ships Class 9 dangerous goods such as UN3480 (lithium-ion batteries shipped alone) and UN3481 (lithium-ion batteries packed with or contained in equipment) by air to destination airports worldwide on a Cargo Aircraft Only basis, after completing UN-certified packaging, state-of-charge control, dangerous goods labelling and declaration under Packing Instructions PI 965 / 966 / 967.
HUIN International Logistics' lithium battery air freight covers all air-shippable lithium battery types, delivering compliant shipping solutions based on UN number, watt-hour (Wh) rating and packing instruction
Lithium-ion cells and modules are shipped by cargo aircraft under PI 965 (CAO), with state of charge SOC ≤ 30% and Section IA/IB weight-tier stowage, departing from Hong Kong / Shenzhen.
EV traction battery packs and energy storage modules are shipped under a packing instruction selected by Wh rating, with DG packaging certificates and air transport appraisals arranged in parallel; heavy cargo is booked as full pallets.
Batteries packed in the same carton as equipment are shipped under PI 966, including spare batteries, swap blocks and power tool kits, with flexible passenger or cargo aircraft space.
Phones, laptops, drones, robot vacuums and other devices with built-in lithium batteries are shipped under PI 967, with batch dispatch for e-commerce bulk and guaranteed peak-season space.
Primary lithium batteries (button cells, non-rechargeable lithium batteries) are shipped under PI 969 / 970, with documentation and packaging requirements fully handled.
Trade-show samples, customer test units and UN38.3 testing samples reach major European and US airports in as little as 1–3 days, with the full DG documentation set travelling with the cargo.
HUIN International Logistics holds NVOCC non-vessel operating common carrier, FMC and IMDG qualifications, and all Class 9 dangerous goods (DG Class 9) operators are certified. The statutory documents required by cargo type are listed below

Submit the battery type, UN number, watt-hour (Wh) rating and destination airport; receive an initial solution within 24 hours.
A shipping solution is produced: packing instruction selection, flight routing, cargo-aircraft CAO space and a detailed cost breakdown.
UN38.3, MSDS and the air transport appraisal are arranged and submitted to the airline for review with the DG declaration.
UN-certified packaging is used per the packing instruction, SOC ≤ 30% is re-checked, and the Class 9 dangerous goods label, lithium battery mark and CAO label are applied.
Cargo-aircraft space is secured; airport delivery, dangerous goods acceptance inspection and loading are arranged, with en-route milestone tracking.
The destination airport clears the cargo as Class 9 dangerous goods (DDP available), last-mile delivery to the door follows, and signing-off closes the documentation loop.
UN-certified fibreboard boxes (UN 4G) or steel drums / wooden boxes are used per the packing instruction, lined with anti-static and cushioning materials, with cell terminals insulated against short circuits; Section IB single-piece weight is limited to 10 kg, and heavy cargo uses the Section IA DG-packaging-certificate route.
UN3480 shipped under PI 965 must be discharged below 30% of rated capacity; a state-of-charge statement is kept before shipment and cross-checked with the Wh rating to ensure dangerous goods acceptance passes first time.
The outer packaging carries the Class 9 dangerous goods label and lithium battery mark (including the UN number and telephone), and PI 965 additionally requires the CAO cargo-aircraft-only label; damaged markings mean the cargo cannot be accepted, so every carton is checked before shipment.
The Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods (DGD) is completed, with the air transport appraisal, UN38.3 and state-of-charge statement attached; HUIN International Logistics' IATA DGR-certified team prepares the documentation to avoid the risks of under-declaration and misdeclaration.
